Our history

From the forge to a market leader

More than 160 years ago, Franz Carl Heinrich Grimme founded a forge in Damme (Germany). His grandson Franz Grimme established the GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik (factory for agricultural machinery) in 1936 and manufactured the first products for a more rational potato harvest. From these beginnings, an internationally active group of companies has grown that develops and produces innovative machinery primarily for agriculture. The products are sold in more than 120 countries via specialised partners and own locations.

We mourn the loss of our former Advisory Board Chairman

Philip Freiherr von dem Bussche died on 8 April 2024, six days after his 74th birthday, after a serious illness.

Extensive construction work in Rieste/Niedersachsenpark (Plant 2)

A new assembly plant, dispatch hall and used machine centre are being built in Niedersachsenpark.

LandBauTechnik Day at GRIMME

The LandBauTechnik Day took place for the eighth time from 4 - 6 March 2024. As host, GRIMME welcomed over 220 representatives of the agricultural machinery trade, manufacturers, cooperation partners of the association and association representatives to the TECHNICOM customer centre.
